Editing & Accessing Scene Dialogue Into The Creation Kit
Step 1 - Launching The Creation Kit
To start off with enter the Creation Kit and load the relevant ESP. In this case this is the 0.05 Varied Voices Skyrim ESP.
Step 2 - Selecting The Dialogue 'Quest'
In Skyrim dialogue is done rather oddly. For example Dialogue is present in three forms.
So for this situation we're using Scene Dialogue. Scene dialogue can be a few things, in most circumstances its pre arranged dialogue/conversations between two NPC's however it can also be 'cutscene' dialogue. For example a character being unable to move and watching NPC's speak dialogue to them and eachother or another example would be hearing the voice's of one of the Daedra Princes while you're completing a task for them or near one of their shrines.
So first click on the object window. In the object window there's categories on the left hand side. In this case Quests fall under 'Character'.
- Quest Dialogue. Dialogue that is quest specific.
- Town, City, Area, etc Dialogue. Dialogue that occurs in a specific area, whether that be 'scene' dialogue, play direct dialogue, etc.
- Character/Voice Set Specific Dialogue. Specific pieces of dialogue such as for example Actor Collide With Actor (Player walking into the NPC) which are used solely by this character or its voiceset (voiceset's can be shared hence why you'll hear two different characters say the same taunt).

In the expanded menu click on and open Quests. Now for the Scene we're trying to access we want a Scene between Torvar and Athis called TorvarAthis1 (In the scripts dialogue are put under catagories e.g --AthisTovar1-- this allows you to quickly find the appropriate Scene for this line of dialogue).
Now we know this scene happens in Whiterun Hold and the Town/City of Whiterun itself. So click on 'Whiterun Hold' to expand that and click on Whiterun to further refine the list of dialogue to be limited to just the Town/City of Whiterun (saves you searching for it through several hundred scenes).

There is however an easier way to do this. Simply enter in the filter box the name of the scene you're looking for, however if you incorrectly type the name of the scene then you won't get any results.
Step 3 - Accessing The Scene Dialogue
Now all you need to do is simply double click (or if you've click on the scene already press enter) and you'll be greeted with this new menu/dialogue box.
Now as you can see there are several tabs.
Since we want to edit the scene dialogue we simply click on scene and we'll be greeted to this tab.
Where's the dialogue through? Well to get the dialogue all you need to do is click the text on the left hand side under editor I.D . Depending on the Scene there might be several of these or in this case just the one. As there's just the one that makes it quite easy. Click on it and the dialogue will pop up as in the picture below.
We just want to edit Torvars dialogue so as you can see its sectioned off by Actors/NPCs with the bottom 'bar' being Tovar's action and dialogue. Since we just want to edit his dialogue and we want to edit his first line only just double click on the white section with the text directly below 'Action 1'.
Step 4 - Editing The Dialogue
Now you'll be in this menu as pictured below.
Now lets say we want to edit the original dialogue, all you need to do is to double click on the response text you want to edit. In this case there's only one line of response text so double click on that as seen below.
To edit the dialogue without adding any, simply click on any of the response text dialogue to edit the dialogue you wish to edit. In this case there's only one response but in some scripts there may be multiple response texts. Please not that in general if there's multiple response texts it either due to one response text being randomly chosen or its a line of dialogue that exceeds the limit of 160 characters therefore having to split the response into multiple response texts.
Here you can change the text of the dialogue to your own liking or to what you have recorded. E.g you might have recorded dialogue for this but you changed some of the words or phrased it differently. Simply change it to how you like it and press OK.
